RAI provides a college preparatory course of study that meets the requirements for admission to the California State University (CSU) and the University of California (UC) systems. Core classes in English, mathematics, science, and history-social science utilize an advanced placement format in alignment with the school’s goals and philosophy of what it means to be an educated citizen in the 21 st century.

To receive a diploma from RAI, students typically must have been continuously enrolled in the charter school for at least one full year and have satisfactorily completed all courses with a grade of "C" or better. Students enrolled in five or more courses are considered to be full-time students. The prescribed course of study for students in grades 7-8 shall include Reading-Language Arts, Mathematics (pre-algebra, Algebra, or higher), Science, History-Social Science, physical education, and one elective for a total of six periods.

All students graduating from the RAI Online Charter High School must earn a minimum of 235 credits during grades 9-12. The prescribed course of study for students in grades 9-12 shall include:
